FINALLY...
I've been trying to resolve this issue for 2 days. Searched HI & LOW for info on .wim file over 2Gb. I too do not want MS WAIK (over 1Gb DL). I thought Nero could do it all? :] Guess not! The only reason i'm re-imaging the ISO is because for some reason "Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool" says my MSDN ISO downloads of Vista & 7 are "... are not valid ISO images..." ??? These are legit MSDN downloads from MS. What ever... Anyway thanks for the clear & simple instructions. Much needed. My eyes are bleeding from searching for resolution to this specific problem.
THANK YOU!!!
Regards, Billy Mase

Thanks your explination of the application of MKISOFS I hope to do the same for a Windows7 Professional DVD.

Some qeustions:

How to extract bootmanager from the DVD?
Is this also named "boot.bin"? (I was not able to find it on the W7 DVD).
How to extract this important (hidden?) file? (you do hide it after the copy, why also hidding boot.catalog?).

I did copy the W7 DVD with help of Ubuntu gedit, however burning it with the result: DVD not bootable!
The problem is Nero Burning ROM has only the possibility of choosing:
1. a bootable ISO 1996 CD or DVD
2. a data DVD (without boot) of the UDF format.
Do you know burn programms which have the possibility to burn a bootable UDF format DVD?

Thanks for your advice and greetings,
